Both were delicious but we enjoyed the GKO a tad more. These were super rich and filling, kept us full all day haha ”

“ My husband and I waited for an hour to get seated. We got there at 7:15pm on a Friday. We recently got back from our trip to Japan so we were missing Japanese food. This place did not disappoint! Fast service and waiter was attentive. The broth is super flavorful, the noodles had great texture and the meat is tender. Definitely worth a try!! ”

“ I visited the world-famous Houston Chinatown to celebrate the start of summer. My girl and I come through about once a month to sample something from the ever-revolving tastes and fashionable flavors that spring up in this flush fount of culinary adventure. The last few times we have been here, we have noticed a long, snaking line forming outside of Mensho Houston. We decided we’d go in and try it today and see if the hype was real. We arrived relatively early and saw a short wait to get a table. Karen got the Spicy Lamb Ramen, and I got the Houston-exclusive Wagyu Texas BBQ Ramen. The Wagyu was a creamy, buttery steak fat that was ever-present throughout the whole bowl. Mixed with the mushrooms, spices, diced onion, and nuts, it was a perfect blend of Western influence on an Eastern classic. Every spoon of broth made me question my very life. The Spicy Lamb ramen was an outstanding balance of lamb, cilantro, and nuts, giving even the best of Chinatown a sprint for its money. We finished the night with a block of Black Sesame cheesecake, which was light and subtle and the perfect pairing for sending us on our way home. This is far and away my favorite bowl of ramen I’ve had here in Houston, and that's saying something, seeing as I generally don’t care for ramen or soups in general. That being said, I would come back for this bowl 10x just to see the look on friends' faces when they try it. Don't screw around, go to Mensho Houston ASAP! ”

“ Finally got into this place at 10 pm With no wait! The lines always scared me. Definitely deserves all its hype. Duck matcha ramen was the most amazing ramen dish I’ve ever had. Texas BBQ matcha was Smokey and a little spicy. Signature ramen was smooth, slightly sweet. Also loved the tempura mushroom appetizer with matcha salt. Definitely will be back! ”

“ Mensho is definitely ramen a step above the others. I was skeptical at first with its pricing and reading a few others reviews, but the rich taste of the broth and texture of the noodles and toppings are make it worth it! We got the signature which gives you a little bit of everything topping wise. I will definitely be coming back and will say that it's definitely worth the wait if you are waiting and the price. ”

“ I finally got to try this popular ramen spot and I am happy to say that it lives up to the hype. My friends and I came here on a Wednesday night and they were kind enough to wait in line for me as I was running late. They told me that the wait was around 25 minutes for the 4 of us to be seated. We started off with the Aji fry and the enoki chips. The aji was hot, crispy, lightly battered, and perfectly fried. With the lemon drizzled on top and paired with the sauce, the meal was off to a great start. As for the enoki chips, there wasn’t anything wrong with it but I think you could skip it. Although our server was correct about dipping it in our Signature Ramen broth as a way to eat it, that crunch factor was already there from the fried root. Speaking of the Signature Ramen, all four of us ordered it and we were blown away. Literally everything about this bowl of ramen was perfect. The broth is so rich and savory (loved the truffle paste that boosted flavor). The noodles were chewy and bouncy- the perfect texture. The egg was perfectly soft boiled and seasoned. And the meats were all so tender and flavorful- I loved how some cuts of the meat were smoky. The variety of flavors and texture that went into creating this bowl of ramen is insane. We also ordered a side of the signature spicy sauce on the side and to be honest, it tasted fine but it’s definitely more of a mild kick so if you’re looking for something more spicy, I would pass this. Overall, the ramen here is significantly more expensive than other places but I think everyone should try Mensho at least once (if the wait isn’t too long). I can see the wait being very long over the weekend so if you are able to go during the week, that is probably still the move. I am looking forward to coming back and trying their other bowls of ramen! ”
